ABA Young Birder Programs receive DuPont grant

by Nate Swick

This was mentioned on out Facebook page, but it undoubtedly deserves as big a megaphone as we can provide.  The ABA Young Birder programs were recently the recipient of a generous Clear into the Future grant from the DuPont corporation.

ABA YB Grant

The program's goals are as follows:

Clear into the Future® is a corporately sponsored program of DuPont whose vision is to enhance awareness, involvement, and understanding of the ecological and commercial value and history of the Delaware Estuary and associated watershed.

Science is a key element of the Clear into the Future® program. DuPont furthers the scientific knowledge of the Delaware Estuary and Watershed through research with community and educational partners. One key component is the Delaware Estuary and Watershed Grants, Sponsorships and Fellowships Program, which provides tangible support to conservation non-profit organizations and academic institutions for efforts and research that can lead to community involvement and/or measurable and meaningful improvements for the Delaware Estuary and the watershed.

ABA President Jeff Gordon and Youth Programs coordinator Bill Stewart were on hand to receive the award, and the funds will go directly to ABA Young Birder programs like Camp Colorado and the Tropicbirds, among others.

Congrats to those involved in the procurement of the grant!  It couldn't go to a better cause.
