#ABArare - Red-necked Stint - British Columbia

by John Puschock

I have a couple new reports for #ABAstint, one each of Red-necked Stint (Code 3) and Little Stint (Code 4):

For the latest Little Stint report, which is from Arcata, CA, click here. Since it may be the same individual reported from nearby Eureka a few days ago, I included the new information in the previous report.

The Red-necked Stint report comes from Boundary Bay near Delta in southern British Columbia. Kevin Louth found the adult stint on the shore of Boundary Bay near the southern end of 96th Street on July 27. He found it at 3 PM on a rising tide. It was found again on July 28 between 96th Street and 104th Street in an area near some pilings, again in the afternoon during the rising tide.

To get to this portion of Boundary Bay, located east of the Boundary Bay Airport, from Highway 99, take Exit 20 (Ladner Trunk Road), drive east on Homby Drive, turn right (south) on either 96th Street or 104th Street (Delta Heritage Air Park is located at the end of 104th).
