Birding News Updates
by Nate Swick
It's been nearly a week since we released the next generation of Jack Siler's immutable Birdingonthe.net, and the buzz has been generally positive. As with all things well-worn, Jack's decade-old contribution to the birding community was second nature to most of us, and the new Birding News, while having features Siler's site could only dream of, will take some getting used to.
But rest assured, your concerns and critiques have been heard and our stalwart web team, David and Greg, have been hard at work fixing bugs, addressing concerns, and working hard to make the new site as useful and used as Jack's original. The birding community has been a diligent beta tester for Birding News and your suggestions are appreciated in the good graces in which they were intended.
In the immediate term, non-bird lists have been added, a link to listserv archives is now available, and, perhaps most notably, a running tab of issues and updates has been included on the site. The ABA wants to make this big change as transparent as possible, and hopes that you will continue to frequent Birding News as it grows into the resource we all hope it will and know it can be.
Thanks for your patience and your continued support.
