A New ABA Young Birder Camp in COSTA RICA!

Starting next summer, the ABA is partnering with friends from Audubon’s famous Hog Island Nature Camp to host a brand new experience for teen birders in the incredibly biodiverse nation of Costa Rica!

Spend a week, July 21, 2019 – July 26, 2019with Hog Island and ABA youth leaders birding, observing local scientists at work, and exploring careers in ornithology. On this intensive 6-day, 5-night program, you’ll experience the amazing birds this small but diverse country has to offer! The enthusiastic young birders on this trip will work alongside some of the country’s best-known birders and ornithologists on field identification, bird ecology, and conservation science activities. A balance of rich educational content and adventure activities make this an unforgettable overseas expedition for our ABA Young Birder community!

Young birders will spend time at Selva Verde Lodge and Arenal Volcano in the north of the country and experience trogons, parrots, tanagers, antbirds, and the life-changing experience of visiting the New World Tropics with friends and mentors.

Please note that this camp is for birders aged 15-19. For more information, itinerary, and pricing, visit this webpage from our friends at Holbrook Travel, who are acting as ground agents for this camp.

And remember, space is still available the ABA’s Young Birder Camps in Colorado and Delaware in Summer 2019. See here for more information on pricing, itineraries, and scholarships.
