The ABA Wordle

Wordle is one of those web-based applications that to a person my age seems miraculous. Enter a RSS feed or text into the program, and a word cloud mysteriously appears. This morning I copied the entire text (articles and comments) from the ABA blog from 1 November until the present. Once pasted into Wordle, the cloud shown above materialized.

The more frequently a word is used, the larger the font displayed in the cloud (for example, since Ted Floyd and I share a first name, “Ted” is larger than either Floyd or Eubanks). Our interests are clear. ABA bloggers are writing about American bird species. I am only showing the top 100 words mentioned, and a few of these (comments, permalink) are in truth labels and not from the body of the article or comment. However, I do find it interesting to see the consistency of our interests.
